A story from a parking lot (about your business)
Bro. Reverse.
I was sitting in a full parking lot.
Waiting.
Engine off.
Audiobook paused.
Just watching.
There was one empty spot next to me.
Perfect size.
Right there.
And car after car tried to take it.
They all approached the same way: head first.
Slow.
Hopeful.
Confident.
Then stuck.
Tiny adjustments.
Steering wheel left.
Right.
Forward.
Stop.
Traffic building behind them.
One guy even had a brand-new car. Cameras everywhere. Twenty sensors probably screaming and beeping like a spaceship.
And still… nothing.
Tried.
Left.
With all that technology, the car should simply say:
“Bro. Reverse.”
But no.
More beeping.
More ego.
Same result.
It just didn’t fit.
And the funny thing?
The spot wasn’t the problem.
The angle was.
If you came from the other side, shifted to reverse and backed in calmly, it was effortless.
Two simple moves.
But nobody wanted to reverse first.
And I kept thinking: This is business.
We see the opportunity.
We go head first.
Grow.
Launch.
Expand.
Hire.
It gets tight.
Margins shrink.
Cash flow starts choking us.
The team gets tired.
So what do we do?
Push harder.
More ads.
More hires.
More growth.
Instead of stopping.
Instead of reversing.
Instead of stabilizing the position before moving forward again.
Backing up feels like failure.
But sometimes it’s positioning.
Sometimes you don’t need more speed. You need a better angle.
Because we glorify forward motion.
But sustainable growth often looks like this:
Pause.
Reverse.
Align.
Then move.
Now here’s the best part.
That parking lot?
There’s always one empty spot.
Because most people still try to enter it the wrong way.
And whenever I go there now, I don’t hesitate.
I go around.
I back in.
Effortless.
Have a great Monday,
Tino
