Don’t Start Yet

👟 Pausing at the starting line

Here’s a twist you didn’t see coming, especially from me.

Remember how I’ve always been that voice in your inbox urging you to "just start"?

To take the first step?

Well, today I'm flipping the script. Yes, you read that right.

Don’t. Start. Yet.

Hold on, before you think I've lost my mind, let me explain.

I know how tempting it is. Every boom and buzz - be it crypto rollercoaster or the AI craziness - FOMO kicks in. Hard.

Suddenly, you find yourself itching to jump on every bandwagon rolling by, fearing you might miss out on the next big thing.

But here’s a cold splash of reality: starting just for the sake of it, driven by the fear of missing out, might just be the misstep you want to avoid.

Warren Buffet once said, “The stock market is designed to transfer money from the active to the patient.”

Swap out 'stock market' with 'life'...

This isn’t me saying dreams and initiatives should be shelved indefinitely. Far from it.

But there’s a colossal difference between a calculated leap and a blind jump.

Ever seen a cat watch a laser pointer? It’s all aim, no plan. Let’s not be that cat with our goals.

Aim, yes. But plan, too

Just because you can start, doesn’t always mean you should.

Timing is everything. And sometimes, the best move is to wait for the right moment, not the right-now moment.

Think of it as strategic patience. It’s about taking a beat to evaluate not just the opportunity, but your readiness for it.

Are you starting something because it aligns with your vision, skills, and passion? Or are you being swayed by the tide of trends?

I'm serious - read this once again before starting anything: Are you starting something because it aligns with your vision, skills, and passion? Or are you being swayed by the tide of trends?

True innovation isn’t just about being first; it’s about being thoughtful and intentional.

It’s about starting something because it matters, not because it’s now.

Pause. Breathe. Reflect.

The right time to start something isn’t when everyone else is doing it; it’s when it makes the most sense for you.

Remember, the world won't run away if you take a moment to tie your shoelaces properly before running (the extra mile).

Carpe Diem,

Tino
