I go as fast as I carefully can

Speed is good. Focus is better.

“I go as fast as I carefully can.”

I just heard this quote from Andrew Huberman, and it stuck with me. Because it’s exactly how I do things.

I love speed.

I love making things happen.

I love the thrill of getting things done.

Shipping, as Seth Godin says.

There’s nothing better than that feeling when something moves from idea to execution. Fast.

But here’s the thing. Sometimes, fast can become reckless.

And that’s where the real challenge lies.

Almost two years ago, I had an idea: to create an outdoor NFT gallery at our Forbidden Spot in Prague. It would let people showcase their digital identities, a digital-to-physical link on the street.

I knew it had potential. But the timing wasn’t right. I was knee-deep in a new LIP project, plus launching the Infi Torem chocolate brand. So, the idea sat on the side. But every time I thought of it, I knew it was something I wanted to build.

Then, a few weeks ago, the timing clicked. I had the chance to get support from ApeCoin DAO for a Bored Ape Yacht Club project.

I jumped at it.

In just a few hours, I put the entire project together and submitted it. We got it. And then things started moving fast.

Within two weeks, we produced 50 large artworks of Bored Apes and Mutant Apes and installed them on the wall - we just finished the Ape Street Gallery by Infi Torem yesterday.

But here’s the key: while it seemed like things were happening fast, they weren’t rushed. The idea had been simmering in my head for two years. The moment the opportunity came, I knew it was the right time to go full throttle. Because I had already put the careful thinking in beforehand.

That’s the balance.

It’s not just about moving fast. It’s about knowing when to hit the gas because you’ve already laid the groundwork.

When the time is right, speed is your friend. But it’s the time spent focusing and thinking that makes the speed pay off.

So go as fast as you carefully can.

Carpe Diem,

Tino

P.S.: And if you're around Prague today or tomorrow, we're having a Life is Porno Sample Sale at Forbidden Spot. Stop by and check out the Ape Street Gallery while you're there.
