Secret Weapon: The “Right Small”

Proactivity wins

I finally had the chance to talk with a guy whose work I’d admired from afar.

He started an advertising agency just a few years ago, and ever since, they’ve become one of the hottest agencies around.

They get storytelling. They use new media like pros. And they seem to understand the culture.

So, I asked him, "What's your secret sauce?"

They seem to be doing something different from all the other agencies.

He said, “I try to keep it ‘right small’. It’s not about the number of employees. It’s about making it manageable. The key is giving my team enough time for proactive ideas.”

“So they come up with ideas for clients just like that?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he said. “Most of the time, without the client even briefing us. We try to understand them, and then we bring opportunities to the table. If we’re not coming up with enough new ideas proactively, I know something's wrong.”

Think about it. How often do we get caught up in the grind? The deadlines. The meetings. The endless to-do lists.

We forget to think outside the box. We forget to look for opportunities.

This guy’s approach is genius. Stay “right small.”

Not just in size, but in mindset. Be nimble. Agile. Ready to pounce on opportunities. Ready to think creatively.

By staying “right small,” he’s doing big, successful things.

His team has the time and space to be proactive, to innovate, to go the extra mile. And that’s where the magic happens.

So, here’s to keeping it “right small.” To staying nimble. To always looking for opportunities, even when they’re not handed to you on a silver platter.

Carpe Diem,

Tino

P.S. Great ideas don’t come from endless meetings. They come from the spaces in between. Like a good sandwich – the magic’s in the filling.
