Stop growing.

“Dad, did you know that in a dead tree, there’s more life than in a living one?”

My son hit me with this question the other day when we were playing in the forest.

I never thought about it that way.

But it makes sense. A living tree grows, takes up space, competes for sunlight.

But a dead tree?

It becomes a home. A whole ecosystem. It feeds the forest. It gives back more than it ever took.

And maybe... business is the same way.

We’re told to grow, grow, grow.

More revenue. More employees. More offices. More everything.

But what if the real magic happens after the growth stops?

What if scaling down, cutting the noise, and focusing on what really matters actually brings more life? More impact? More profit?

Some of the strongest brands aren’t the biggest ones. They’re the ones that know when to stop growing and start thriving.

So if a dead tree can be full of life, maybe slowing down isn’t the end—it’s the beginning.
