The Danger of Fitting In
Innovation doesn’t come from the middle of the pack.
In school, they teach us to fit in.
Follow the same rules. Answer the same questions in the same way.
And even if you never really fit in, it sticks with you.
The habit.
The urge.
The invisible pressure to do what’s expected.
But here’s the truth: In business, fitting in is dangerous.
Doing things the way they’ve always been done? That’s where innovation goes to die.
Now, I’m not saying you should rebel just for the sake of it. Being different just to be different is like wearing a clown costume to a skatepark. It gets attention, but it doesn’t mean you know how to skate.
The magic happens when you challenge what doesn’t make sense.
When you look at how everyone else is doing it and ask, “Why?” And then you find a different (ideally also better) way.
Take Life is Porno. We never followed the fashion industry’s rules.
We didn’t even know what those rules were…
That’s why we created our own rules.
Our own culture.
Standing out isn’t about being loud. It’s about being true.
So here’s my challenge for you:
Next time you’re tempted to fit in—stop.
Think. Is this what feels right? Or is this just what’s expected?
Because the world doesn’t need more copies. It needs more originals.

P.S. Innovation doesn’t come from the middle of the pack. Step to the edges. That’s where the fun begins.
