- I was just speaking about you
I was just speaking about you
"I can't believe you're calling – I was just speaking about you."
How many times has this happened to you?
You think of someone you haven't seen in a while, and the next day, you bump into them.
Or you mention someone you wanted to work with, and suddenly, they DM you about a project.
Sounds familiar?
This kind of serendipity happens to me all the time. And I've started to use it to my advantage.
Wait, what do you mean by 'using it'?
Well, it's all about the power of the subconscious mind. And don’t worry - I didn’t turn this newsletter into an esoteric one.
But I recently revisited the classic book "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Joseph Murphy, and it’s fascinating how incredible our subconscious can be.
Most of us are experts at creating scenarios in our heads.
Also sounds familiar, right?
But often, they're negative: the worst-case scenarios.
What if we flipped that?
What if we started painting pictures of the outcomes we desire instead?
Imagine the possibilities if we train our minds to think positively, to expect good things.
It’s like with children – tell them not to be scared, and they’ll focus on fear. Tell them they’re brave, and they see themselves as courageous. The subconscious works similarly; it responds to the narrative we feed it.
So, here’s a hands-on takeaway: Start consciously painting positive outcomes in your mind. If there's a goal you’re chasing or a dream you’re nurturing, visualize it coming true.
Make it a daily practice, like a mental workout for your brain.
Seriously, visualize it as if it existed.
The catch? It’s not just wishful thinking. It’s about aligning your mindset with your actions. When you start believing in positive outcomes, you subconsciously gear yourself towards making them happen.
Your actions, decisions, and even the way you talk, will align with that positive outcome you've been visualizing.
So, next time you find yourself creating scenarios, make sure they're the kind that will push you forward, not hold you back.
To making our subconscious our ally, not our obstacle,
Carpe Diem,
